Jazz Fest in New Orleans, 2004

I finally got to Jazz Fest on its last day, Sunday, May 2.  Friday night had been cancelled due to a storm that began the previous night, only the third cancellation in 35 years of Jazz Fest.  They play in the rain but not in storms on a grassy-lake.  The following day, Saturday, was very wet and rainy but the show went on.  Sunday was dry, cool (60-65) and still very wet underfoot.

I did a lot of walking and avoiding deep muddies.  I heard a Gospel group (gospel is never less than wonderful), a group called Los Hombres Calientes (the Hot Men?), and the Neville Brothers closed out the day and the festival.

Look for Los Hombres Calientes in person; if you can catch them, do.  They probably defy easy categorization.  But they were sensational.
